Please correct me if I am wrong.
If I had ten million dollars and wanted to toy with the idea of creating a not unsuccessful social/shopping site around the figures of mother, wife, and girlfriend (bearing in mind, amongst other things, that the market for Mother's Day gifts is second in size only to that of Christmas ones), I would bid for the website www.myoldlady.com, which is currently up for auction at www.sitepoint.com, even if the starting price ($ 200,000) may seem rather high at first glance: for though it enjoys as yet no brand value, no visitors, no profit, nor even a business plan, it has proven to elicit potential visitors' curiosity simply by virtue of its name (it had 3,000 unique visitors after being advertised in a small ad in The New Yorker some years ago), and I think the idea of using a content-full approach to the establishment of a relation with potential frequenters/customers to be a good one.
This is all hypothetical, of course, and my girlfriend urges me not to bore the pants off of anyone with this blog of mine. But I really would appreciate constructive criticism of my fantasy, since it does not appear to be coming true. Or perhaps you know just the right millionaire...
